Unifrance’s MyMetaStories Revolutionizes European Cinema in the Metaverse

MyMetaStories Returns for Second Edition with 20 Films Showcased Online and in Minecraft

Introduction

Unifrance’s Creative Approach

Unifrance, the international agency for the promotion of French film, is gearing up for the second edition of the highly innovative European film festival, MyMetaStories. Launched last year, this festival aims to introduce European cinema to younger audiences, particularly gamers, through their own technology and within their virtual universe.

Event Details

Virtual Access and Dates

From 11 October to 3 November, cinephiles worldwide can enjoy over 20 films from the festival on more than 30 partner VOD platforms. Additionally, from 18 to 21 October, a unique experience awaits as the festival will take place in the virtual world of Minecraft.

Film Line-Up

The selection includes 20 films from 14 European countries, comprising seven feature films and 13 shorts. These films, which have been showcased at prestigious festivals like Toronto, Cannes, and Berlin, will be subtitled in six languages for a diverse audience.

Immersive Experience in Minecraft

One of the highlight feature films, “R U There” by David Verbeek, will be screened in Minecraft, along with the full selection of short films. This immersive experience offers players unique projection rooms, pixel art visuals, and interactive games inspired by the history of European cinema.

Festival Selection

The festival lineup includes a mix of thought-provoking feature films such as “After the Fire” and “Sonne,” as well as captivating short films like “The Ballad” and “Petit à petit.” Each film is designed to engage players in a playful and educational adventure within the world of European cinema.

Conclusion

MyMetaStories’ innovative approach to integrating European cinema into the gaming world marks a significant step towards engaging new audiences. Through this second edition, the festival continues to push boundaries and showcase the rich diversity of European filmmaking.
