AI Integration with Blockchain Technology: A Key Focus for Venture Capital in 2024

AI Startups Garner $11.8 Billion in Funding in the Last 90 Days

Analytics Firm Reports AI Solutions on Blockchain Gaining Traction in DeFi

Venture capital investment is increasingly flowing into the intersection of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology in 2024. Recent data from Stocklytics reveals that AI startups have secured a significant $11.8 billion in funding over the past 90 days, representing a substantial portion of all venture capital funding in the third quarter of the year.

Nansen, an analytics firm, has pointed out the rapid growth of AI solutions operating on blockchain infrastructure, particularly within decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.

One notable development in this space is the launch of Wire Network, a new blockchain platform tailored for AI agents. The platform features a Universal Transaction Layer (UTL) that enables decentralized and autonomous transactions across multiple blockchains, eliminating the need for bridges and reducing delays.

Ken DiCross, the founder and CEO of Wire Network, emphasized the importance of removing barriers for AI adoption, stating that the platform allows AI agents to transact freely across various blockchains, promoting decentralization and independence.

Another player in the AI-blockchain space, OpenGradient, recently raised $8.5 million in seed funding to advance its decentralized AI infrastructure. The startup aims to provide scalable AI computing onchain, supporting verifiability and attribution for AI deployment and hosting.
