Scroll Launches SCR Token on Binance with Pre-Market Trading
Introduction
Scroll, a leading Ethereum Layer 2 network, is gearing up for the launch of its native token, SCR, on Binance. The platform will offer pre-market trading for SCR, providing users with early access to trade the token before its official spot market listing.
Binance Launchpool Farming Event
Commencing on October 9th, Binance will kick off a Launchpool farming event for SCR, where users can stake BNB and FDUSD to farm SCR tokens. The farming pools have capped limits, allowing a maximum of 97,395 SCR in the BNB pool and 17,187 SCR in the FDUSD pool. A total of 55 million SCR tokens, equivalent to 5.5% of the total supply, will be allocated for Launchpool rewards.
Pre-Market Trading on Binance
Binance will initiate pre-market trading for the SCR/USDT pair on October 11th at 10:00 UTC. This feature enables users to trade actual tokens, unlike derivative-based access provided by other services. However, pre-market trading is restricted in various countries, including the United States, Canada, Japan, and Spain.
Token Distribution and Governance
When listed, the circulating supply of SCR will be 190 million tokens (19% of the total supply), ensuring a significant presence in the market. The SCR token plays a crucial role in governance, proving, and sequencing within the Scroll ecosystem, aligning with the platform’s decentralization goals.
Scroll’s Ecosystem and Future Plans
Scroll aims to offer global access to decentralized applications and services, with SCR being instrumental in decentralizing governance through the Scroll DAO. This approach empowers the community to control and sustain the platform in the long term.
Token Allocation Breakdown
Out of the 1 billion SCR tokens, 15% is reserved for airdrops, with the first one scheduled for October 22, 2024. A substantial portion (35%) is allocated to ecosystem growth, while 23% is earmarked for Scroll’s core contributors. Investors will receive 17% of the total supply, with token unlocking spread over four years.
